The Sui dynasty beginning
The Sui dynasty started in 581 but only lasted 38 years. The dynasty was originally started by a man named Emperor Wendi. Wendi used to be an official of northern Zhou and his real name was Yang Jian. Emperor Wendi was a very distinct from his son emperor Yangdi. As a Buddhist himself he encouraged the people in china to convert to Buddhism. Chinese historians considered Wendi as a rare emperor in time. He conquered southern china which had been divided into many smaller kingdoms. Wendi was brought into the life of being an emperor by his ancestors because many of them were emperors and rulers long before him. The sui dynasty later ended in the year 618. even though the Sui dynasty only lasted about 38 years there was three emperors. they were Emperor Wendi, Emperor Gong, and Emperor Yang
